Ignacio Domínguez-Torrado, LL.M.

Ignacio Domínguez-Torrado, LL.M. is a Partner at Uhthoff in Mexico where he leads the Corporate Law Practice in which he has over 20 years of practice experience. He oversees all matters related to Corporate Law including Licensing, Agreements Drafting, Reviewing and Negotiations; Dispute Settlement Negotiations and Franchises, although he is also an expert in Intellectual Property.

Additionally, Mr. Domínguez Torrado leads the Regulatory Affairs and Data Protection practices, as well as Lobbying with local authorities. Supervises the Food and Drug and Franchises practices, the preparation and supervision of legal requirements involving contests, sweepstakes, marketing and promotional events. He also heads the Media and Entertainment Law area. Although Ignacio’s main practice include the aforementioned areas, he has deep knowledge of Intellectual Property matters.

Background

Ignacio joined Uhthoff in 1998 and was appointed Partner in 2007. He holds a Law Degree from Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City and a Masters in Law from The University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA, USA, as well as a Postgraduate Degree in Business Law from Universidad Panamericana in Mexico. Ignacio is fluent in Spanish and English.

Ignacio is a known for publishing several papers in Intellectual Property and collaborates regularly with different local journals and newspapers on the same subject. He has been a renowned professor in different Universities in Mexico and invited lecturer in different Associations.

Ignacio is an active member of the Mexican Bar Association (BMA), the Mexican Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AMPPI), the Corporate Law National Association (ANADE), the International Bar Association (IBA) and Licensing Executive Society (LES), where he has acted as Chair in several committees in these Associations. He is also a regular attendee of the ANADE, IBA, LES and INTA Conventions.
