Industrial Designs protect the specific geometry of a product. They are subdivided into:

  • Industrial Model in case of being a three-dimensional product.
  • Industrial Drawing, in case of being a two-dimensional product.

An Industrial Design is protectable when its ornamental or geometric aspect consists of visually new features that make it different from the similar ones of its type at a global level.

This legal figure provides a monopoly of 15 years in Mexico for the holder.
